Brazil and the World Cup

Brazil's relationship with the FIFA World Cup is deeply intertwined with the nation's identity. As the only country to have participated in every World Cup tournament, Brazil holds a legendary status in the sport, having secured the coveted trophy a record five times. From the early triumphs of Pelé and his teammates in the late 1950s and 1960s, to the more recent victory in 2002, Brazilian football has consistently showcased a style of play that emphasizes skill, creativity, and passion. However, hosting the 2014 World Cup also revealed the complex realities of the nation, highlighting both the immense love for the sport and the socio-economic challenges that accompany such large-scale events. Despite the highs and lows, Brazil's contributions to the World Cup have left an indelible mark on the history of football.
